I used my scorecard to grade Starcraft II

  1. The pre-generated characters for the campaign are are almost all white. One is female. Score 2.
  2. The NPCs are of various alien species and various genders. Downloadable content has added playable versions of NPCs, include two additional female characters but no characters of color. Score 2.
  3.  All the main NPCs are a crucial part of gameplay, but diversity is lacking. Score 4.
  4. Campaign allows 2/3 non-human characters (one is female), and DLC has 11/18 non-human characters. Score 4.
  5. Of the two black characters, one has dreadlocks and has the last name of Tosh. Score 2.
  6. Due to its large number of alien races, this game provides some opportunities for identification with non-white characters, but few characters of color or women. Score 2.
Overall score 16/30.
